Con carne
Chili without meat   When I cooked chilli con carne for the initial time, I bear in mind.  It was many years ago, and it was so simple! I fried some beef and after that ... I opened up a pack of seasoning mix! I added it to the meat along with tomatoes, a splash of water and red kidney beans and done! Yes, although I am embarrassed to confess to it now, I have to confess that I used a shop-bought mix to make that meal in the past.  However there is something much more humiliating.  When that all set to prepare package had not been available any longer, I quit preparing chilli con carne. Why? I reflected then that making it from scratch was as well challenging and that I would never accomplish the exact same taste.   When I ultimately got my nerve  and a fantastic recipe, as well!  I understood that thanks to cooking it myself, I knew what exactly was in it. And it tasted probably even far better than the one I used to make. No surprise then that it quickly became one of my household...
